Initial appointment
The initial consultation is absolutely
free and without any obligation. You'll see
one of our treatment coordinators and
they'll discuss the general procedure; look
to establish your concerns and expectations;
answer any queries and questions; show you
examples of previous cases; take you through
the various steps and basically explain
everything that's involved in the smile
makeover process. You'll also get to meet Dr
Bhatt at this stage, just so you can put a
face to the name as well as get an idea of
the likely final cost. All costs are later
confirmed and presented to you prior to your
preparation appointment.
Oral examination
The next stage would be an appointment
with Dr Bhatt for a comprehensive
examination to check all is healthy (this
includes a soft tissue exam and an oral
cancer check televideo examination), we
measure the condition of the gums and do a
smile analysis to establish what
improvements we can make. We take a series
of Photos and Impressions to cast study
models of how you are now. These can be used
to create a Wax mock up of how we would like
your new smile to be.
Hygiene appointment
Our Hygienist will see you to give your
teeth a through clean and to recommend a
good home care routine. Healthy gums are
essential to the health of your teeth. We
firmly believe that knowledge is power and
so the more information you have the better
for the long term health of your mouth.
Stage One - Preparation appointment
This is a long appointment so best to put
aside a morning or afternoon. You'll be
given a painless local anaesthetic before Dr
Bhatt undertakes some gentle reshaping of
your teeth and completes any necessary
lasering work. After taking impressions, he
then hand builds temporary veneers based on
the wax mock-up, spending considerable time
refining and customizing the new smile. Time
will be spent choosing the right colour,
taking into account skin tone and hair
colour.
After living with the temporary veneers
for a few days, we invite you back in to
give us your feedback - are you happy with
the general shape and feel, do you like the
colour, is there anything you'd like to
change ?
Stage two -Fitting appointment
This takes place 2-3 weeks later and do
please allow for another morning or
afternoon. After the administering of local
anaesthetic the temporary veneers are
carefully removed. The new smile is tried in
the mouth and reviewed, once confidant we
are happy, and you approve, the new smile is
permanently bonded into place.
Dr Bhatt will see you about a week later
just to re-check that the bite has settled.
We also take this opportunity to do some
'after' photographs and we will happily
supply you with your own set of 'before' and
'after' shots.
Once the work has been completed it
should give many years of trouble free
service. Excellent home care along with
normal routine examinations should be
carried out together with regular visits to
the hygienist to ensure the health of the
gums.
